RE: IWA Sponsor, Copper Peak Hillclimb info

What are the regulations for pro stock sled wise? Do you follow the same rule structure as RMSHA?

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

Well if you don't like our rules it is simple. You have two options. First one is buy a IWA memebership, run for a board memeber postion come to our meeting voice your concern and make a motion to change the rule. We are a driver run Race circuit. The second option is, well I think you can figure that one out.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

Try and take a three year old sled and race in sno-x or cross country? I think our rules are just fine. If it takes you three to five years to make a sled handle you are doing something wrong and sorry to say you shouldn't be racing. Time to cut the mullet and update your style.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

600 mod rule passed, the new rule will be stated something like this. 600 mod can run in 800 stock class with the same govering rule as pro open mod but limited to 600cc, 800cc sleds must retain all the same rules as last year but with the exception that there is no front end width restrition (36'' center to center is no more).

RE: Sad News

Mike we should do something to honor Jeff at the banquet, would it be possible to retire his number? I think that would be a great honor.

RE: Sad News

Jeff was a idol to me when I started racing, he was a guy to look up too! Alawys there to lend a hand or give some advice to a young driver. I am deeply sadened by this tragic news. May god bless his family through these times and rest in peace Jeff.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

Shawn the only proble is that sno-x sleds from 2006 and up have lightwieght hoods stock, the a/c has had a lightwieght hood since 05. I do not belive any factory sno-x sled has light wieght panels stock though.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

they run twins ole. Bobby a single pipe is not the way to go most of the sno-x motors where ment to run with twins (at least the good ones) the motors have been ported to run twins and the cdi's are set-up for the higher rpms. Speedwerx makes twins for cats, you can get twins from slp and the factory for Poo's and Ski-doo factory has twins for doo's along with d-max and few others. I am also sure rugland will and has made twins for all three.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

My 600 mod sled will be in IQ trim, I think most people in this class will be running new iron. In my opion most people will have new looking stuff and I plan on running my 600 mod in the winter with differnt trail heads and cdi on it. It will probally be easier to keep up and running than the converted 440 I ran on the trails last year. again this is what I plan on doing I can tspeak for every one in the class

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

Team DP Pro Mod and Pro Formula (or whatever the class is called).
Modded 600cc sleds in two classes of racing with one sled, sounds pretty economical to me. It gives the drivers more choices, more compition, makes racing better. Where does anybody lose? Chad and Andy get to keep there 800s, New or returning drivers get to pick what sled and type and are still compititive.
I think this is a WIN WIN for everybody and the sport I highly encourage all board members to make this a class!!
Future TEAM DP

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

I have a chassis and a 600 motor waiting for this rule to be passed, I remeber racing a 600 mod against 700 mods back in the day in semi-pro open. I do think if this rule passes to change the name of the class for less fan confusion. Maybe take a Ice racing term and aply it, maybe call it Pro Sprint ovals or Pro champ??????
